VA Will Resume Pharmacy Copay Collection
COLLECTION HAD BEEN ON PAUSE IN 5 OHIO AND WASHINGTON FACILITIES
VA centers in Washington and Ohio had paused pharmacy copay collection for the past few years after experiencing complications with their new medical records system and COVID-19.
Copay Collection to Resume This October
Pharmacy copay collection in the Ohio and Washington service centers is slated to restart in October. Veterans who were impacted reportedly received medications from VA offices using the Oracle Health electronic health record system (specifically tested in the Inland Northwest and central Ohio).
VA officials notified impacted veterans and assured them that they will not currently pursue backdated co-payments.
Advocates had expressed worry regarding the potential financial burden of previous bills on veterans.
